Role Summary
You'll own our Shopify-based storefronts end to end: building, measuring, and improving conversions. That means evaluating and shipping landing pages from Figma, keeping Meta, GA4 and GTM data clean, running merchandising and promo changes, and running a steady test-and-learn program against conversion rate (CVR) and average order value (AOV).
This is a hands-on role for someone who finds problems before they become tickets, fixes them, and checks that the fix worked. The role requires proactive, often self-initiated, identification of problems and opportunities, recommending solutions, executing them and validating that changes perform correctly after launch.
Reports to Director, MarTech & Automation, who will provide hands-on oversight of execution and stack training.
Key Responsibilities
Build and run the storefront
- Maintain and improve the Shopify theme (Liquid, HTML/CSS, JavaScript) through a GitHub-based workflow.
- Ensure technical and on-page SEO keep exceeding the industry defaults.
- Take Figma designs and briefs through build, QA and launch: landing pages, PDPs, collections and promo pages.
- Manage Shopify apps, bundles and subscriptions, including migrations such as moving bundle SKUs to a Recharge-compatible setup.
- QA key journeys across browsers and devices; catch issues like overselling or checkout bugs before customers do.
Keep the data trustworthy
- Own the marketing trackers, incl. Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API (CAPI), GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Ensure core events (ViewContent, AddToCart, Purchase) fire accurately, and diagnose deduplication, event-ID mismatches and missing events.
- Identify and fix data flow gaps in the customer journey and enrich the customer behaviour analytics.
Grow conversion and AOV
- Audit the funnel for leaks and run a structured test program: hypothesis, variant, A/B or offer test, readout, rollout.
- Track traffic, CVR, AOV and revenue to explain why campaigns and experiences win or lose.
- Watch competitor sites and promo mechanics for ideas worth testing.
Run merchandising and launches
- Execute product and promo changes: OOS swaps, SKU substitutions, gift-with-purchase thresholds, cross-sells, upsells and cart updates.
- Turn new product launches into the full site experience: PDPs, collections, navigation and landing pages.
Work across the team
- Partner with marketing, creative, paid media, operations and developers to ship campaigns accurately and on time.
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code to move faster without lowering QA standards.
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years in e-commerce development or technical e-commerce roles, with hands-on Shopify theme work (Liquid, HTML/CSS, JavaScript).
- Working knowledge of Meta Pixel and CAPI, GA4 and GTM, including debugging event deduplication and missing events.
- A track record of running A/B or offer tests and turning results into shipped changes.
- Comfort in evaluating Figma prototypes before moving to production pipelines.
- Knowledge of Git and GitHub.
- Clear written communication and the judgment to prioritize across several teams on your own.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Shopify headless or edge setups (e.g. Cloudflare Workers) for landing pages.
- Email and SMS platform experience (e.g. Klaviyo) and how it ties into on-site behaviour.
- Server-side tagging or a CAPI gateway.
- Experience running on-site experiments with a testing tool or theme-level splits.
- Health, wellness or DTC subscription brand background.
- Using AI coding tools like Claude Code in a real workflow.
Success Criteria
- Measurably improved customer acquisition process and performance through journey optimization and conversion rates.
- Product and campaign launches become stress-free and seamless.
- Increased confidence in marketing data that drives executive decisions.
