Glen Abbey lets you visit Tiger’s bunker. Repeating the shot is a separate matter.

Glen Abbey at 1333 Dorval Drive offers public daily-fee golf, not unrestricted park access. Its redevelopment appeals were withdrawn in July 2021. Current bookings carry demand-based prices, mandatory included carts and rules for juniors and range use; check the live rate before playing.

The famous shot is available in the memory, not the booking terms

Tiger Woods hit a celebrated six-iron from Glen Abbey’s eighteenth-hole bunker in the 2000 Canadian Open. The course lets other golfers encounter the same landscape. It does not promise the ball will recognize the occasion and behave accordingly.

Golf Canada identifies the right-side fairway bunker and describes a layout suited to spectators and a tournament setting that supported the game. For some players, the history adds something no ordinary scorecard can measure.

Others in an older golfers’ discussion compared attempts at the shot and questioned whether price and condition matched the reputation. A famous moment can be thrilling without settling whether a particular round is worth the bill.

Even an old celebrity photograph brings back the land argument

A picture captioned Michael Jordan at Glen Abbey in July 2009 prompted concerns about redevelopment and wishes for a public park. Its date and original photographer were not independently confirmed, but the larger attachment to the land is well established.

The town records a 2016 proposal for 3,200 homes with office and retail space, refusal by council and lengthy heritage proceedings. ClubLink withdrew its redevelopment tribunal appeals in July 2021. An old dispute should not be passed around as if demolition remains an established imminent event.

Keeping a golf course and opening a free public park are also different outcomes. Contributors value heritage, housing and broader access in different proportions; the actual status does not change merely because the preferred future is appealing.

The live price has the last word

Glen Abbey offers public daily-fee bookings up to thirty days ahead. Its displayed table lists $241 regular and $165 twilight before HST, while the operator directs players to the live engine because prices vary with demand.

Carts are mandatory and included. Juniors need a paying adult; range access is restricted by timing and weather, with members and daily-fee players allowed no earlier than an hour before their tee time. Check remaining daylight for twilight rather than assuming the famous finishing hole will wait politely.

The course is at 1333 Dorval Drive. It remains controlled playing space, not somewhere to wander onto the holes for a casual sightseeing walk.

History can add to a round without obliging you to buy one

Some golfers will find the sporting memory worth paying to experience. Others will prefer a different round or simply enjoy the history. Neither choice requires pretending there is one correct price for nostalgia.

The landscape has survived a significant planning fight and contains a shot people still discuss. That makes it more than an old photograph with a famous face.

If you play, the bunker supplies the location. The six-iron still requires rather a lot from the person holding it.
