Intermediate Accountant

Our client is an established supply chain and logistics company supporting transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations. They are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their Mississauga finance team and work closely with Operations to support accurate financial reporting, improve processes, and contribute to system enhancements.
This opportunity is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on accounting, analyzing financial data, and collaborating across teams. You will also contribute to a Transportation Management System (TMS) migration and other system improvements.
What you’ll do:
- Complete month-end activities, including journal entries, invoice postings, accruals, cost allocations, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues.
- Reconcile data between billing systems, the TMS, and the ERP to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial results and variances, and lead month-end review discussions with Operations Management.
- Support customer reporting, internal reporting packages, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Participate in the TMS migration and other system implementation and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for interim and year-end audits.
What you bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA designation in progress preferred.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to reconcile and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and confidence explaining financial information to colleagues outside Finance.
- An interest in improving processes and supporting system changes.
