Elm Psychology Oakville is a warm, collaborative psychology practice providing compassionate, evidence-based, and neuroaffirming services to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families.
We believe that meaningful growth begins with understanding. Our approach focuses on recognizing each individual's unique strengths, understanding their challenges, and providing practical, personalized strategies to support emotional well-being, confidence, and resilience.
Our services include individual therapy, psychoeducational and psychological assessments, ADHD and executive functioning support, parent consultation, and school-based recommendations.
At Elm Psychology, we value genuine connection, clinical excellence, collaboration, and creating a welcoming environment where clients feel understood, accepted, and supported.
About the Opportunity
We are looking to welcome a Psychotherapist, Psychologist, or qualified clinician working toward professional registration to our growing practice.
This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor opportunity, ideal for clinicians who already have full-time employment, an established practice, or other professional commitments and are interested in complementing their existing work with additional clinical hours.
Opportunities are available for individual therapy and/or psychoeducational assessments, depending on the clinician's qualifications, experience, and scope of practice.
Clinical supervision is available for candidates working toward professional registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
Areas of Clinical Focus
We are particularly interested in clinicians with experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults in areas such as:
- Anxiety, stress, and low mood
- Emotional regulation and coping strategies
- Social skills, friendships, and peer relationships
- Executive functioning, including organization, planning, attention, and task initiation
- ADHD, autism, and neurodevelopmental differences
- Self-esteem, confidence, and identity development
- Life transitions and adjustment difficulties
- Parent consultation and family support
- Good understanding of IEPs and school supports available
For clinicians interested in assessment work, experience conducting psychoeducational, ADHD, or other psychological assessments would be essential.
Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Work, or a related field.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with an appropriate regulatory college in Ontario.
- Experience providing therapeutic or psychological services to children, adolescents, and/or young adults.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including CBT, ACT, DBT-informed interventions, or other developmentally appropriate approaches.
- A strong understanding of neuroaffirming, strengths-based, and individualized approaches to care.
- Experience supporting individuals with ADHD, autism, and executive functioning differences.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while valuing collaboration and professional consultation.
- Experience conducting psychoeducational or psychological assessments is an asset but not required.
- Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and compassionate clinical practice.
Who Would Be a Great Fit?
Beyond clinical qualifications, we are looking for someone who is warm, compassionate, knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people and their families.
Our ideal colleague is someone who builds meaningful connections with clients, approaches challenges with curiosity and empathy, and recognizes that every individual has their own strengths, needs, and ways of experiencing the world.
We especially value clinicians who embrace a neuroaffirming approach, respect individual differences, and focus on helping clients feel understood, confident, and empowered rather than expecting them to fit a particular mould.
We hope to work with someone thoughtful, reliable, collaborative, and committed to ongoing professional learning and high-quality care.
