About Love Ur Curls Kids™ (LUCK™)
At Love Ur Curls Kids™ (LUCK™), we believe self-love starts young and every child deserves to see their curls celebrated, not tamed.
Launched in January 2024, LUCK™ was created to make wash days easier, more joyful and confidence-building for kids and their parents. With a growing opportunity across the kids' haircare category, we're ready to take the business to the next level.
We're looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager who knows how to hunt for opportunities, build relationships, win new business and turn great ideas into measurable results.
This isn't a traditional brand management role. It's an entrepreneurial, commercially focused opportunity for someone who wants to help build a business, open new doors and make things happen. You'll own the process of identifying prospects, pitching retailers, closing new accounts and growing revenue, while using marketing, partnerships and consumer demand generation to accelerate growth.
If you're proactive, resourceful, commercially minded and excited by the challenge of building something, we'd love to meet you.
Learn more about LUCK™
The Opportunity
As Sales & Marketing Manager for LUCK™, you'll be responsible for growing the business through new distribution, revenue generation and demand creation.
You'll take ownership of the sales pipeline from prospecting to close, identifying and pursuing opportunities across specialty beauty and curl retailers, online retailers and marketplaces, grocery, pharmacy, big-box retailers, independent salons and professional distributors.
You'll also develop and execute marketing initiatives that help LUCK™ stand out, generate consumer interest, support retail sell-through and strengthen our position in the kids' haircare market.
Working closely with the Brand Manager and internal teams, you'll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. One day, you might be pitching a new retail partner; the next, developing a retailer presentation, coordinating a creator partnership or launching a campaign designed to drive demand.
This is an in-office role based in Mississauga, where our team works collaboratively on-site four days a week.
Your mandate is simple: win new business, grow revenue and build a brand families love.
What You'll Do
1. Sales & Business Development
- Own the sales pipeline from prospecting through to close. Identify, research and prioritize new business opportunities, proactively reaching out to prospective retail partners, distributors and salon accounts.
- Hunt for new distribution opportunities. Build relationships with buyers, category managers, retail decision-makers and potential partners across specialty beauty, curl care, e-commerce, grocery, pharmacy, big-box retail and professional channels.
- Drive outbound sales. Pick up the phone, send the email, follow up persistently and turn cold prospects into meaningful conversations and commercial opportunities.
- Pitch and win new accounts. Develop compelling product pitches, deliver presentations, communicate the LUCK™ value proposition and move opportunities through the sales process.
- Manage the full sales cycle. Coordinate samples, pricing discussions, product information, retailer requirements, negotiations and next steps to convert prospects into active accounts.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline. Keep prospect lists, outreach activity, account status, sales forecasts and follow-ups organized and up to date.
- Grow existing accounts. Identify opportunities to expand distribution, increase assortment, support promotions and build stronger, long-term retail relationships.
- Develop channel-specific growth opportunities. Identify where LUCK™ can win, assess prospective partners and recommend practical ways to expand market reach.
- Track and deliver against sales targets. Take accountability for new account acquisition, revenue growth, pipeline development and distribution expansion.
- Bring a commercial mindset to every opportunity. Evaluate the potential of prospective accounts, prioritize high-value opportunities and focus on activities that move the business forward.
2. Marketing & Demand Generation
- Turn marketing into a growth driver. Develop and execute initiatives that increase awareness, generate consumer demand and support sales conversion across retail and direct-to-consumer channels.
- Support retail sell-in and sell-through. Create compelling retailer presentations, product sell sheets, promotional concepts, product education materials and other tools that help secure distribution and drive performance once products are on shelf.
- Plan and execute campaigns. Partner with the Brand Manager and internal marketing teams to bring seasonal campaigns, product initiatives, promotions and key brand moments to life.
- Identify demand-generation opportunities. Recommend and coordinate marketing initiatives that help more parents discover LUCK™, understand the products and choose them for their families.
- Build strategic partnerships. Identify and activate opportunities with complementary brands, parent communities, creators, organizations and other partners that can expand awareness and reach.
- Support e-commerce growth. Identify opportunities to improve product visibility, strengthen online retail listings, support marketplace performance and drive conversion.
- Use insights to inform action. Monitor campaign performance, sales results, customer feedback and market trends to identify opportunities and improve future initiatives.
- Think commercially about marketing investment. Prioritize activities based on business objectives, available resources and measurable impact.
3. Social Media, Content & Community
Social media is an important part of the LUCK™ growth engine, but it is not the primary focus of this role.
- Support the development and execution of organic social content across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- Help identify relatable content ideas, creator collaborations and parent-focused stories that connect with the LUCK™ audience.
- Coordinate content calendars and campaign assets in partnership with the Brand Manager and creative team.
- Support community initiatives that build brand affinity, encourage conversation and celebrate curls.
- Monitor engagement and audience feedback, sharing relevant insights that can inform marketing and sales initiatives.
- You'll be expected to contribute creatively and get involved when needed, but your primary responsibility is growing the business not spending your days posting on social media.
4. Market Development & Commercial Insights
- Research the kids' haircare category, competitive landscape, retailer assortment and emerging market opportunities.
- Identify potential distribution gaps and opportunities where LUCK™ can differentiate itself.
- Build a clear understanding of prospective retail partners, their customers and their business needs.
- Develop recommendations for channel expansion, account prioritization, pricing and promotional opportunities in collaboration with the Brand Manager.
- Stay informed about retail trends, buyer expectations, category developments and competitor activity.
- Share actionable insights with the team to help shape commercial priorities and future growth plans.
5. Cross-Functional Execution & Ownership
- Work closely with the Brand Manager and internal sales, marketing, creative and digital teams to align priorities and execute growth initiatives.
- Take ownership of projects from idea through execution, proactively identifying what needs to happen and driving next steps.
- Coordinate samples, presentations, campaign assets, product information and other requirements needed to move opportunities forward.
- Communicate progress, challenges, results and opportunities clearly and consistently.
- Bring solutions, not just problems. When something isn't working, identify alternatives and take initiative to find a way forward.
Who You Are
You're a hunter with a marketer's brain and an entrepreneur's mindset. You enjoy opening doors, building relationships, solving problems and seeing the direct impact of your work on business growth.
You don't need someone to tell you to follow up with a buyer, research a new retail opportunity or move a project forward. You take ownership, stay persistent and figure out what it takes to get results. You also understand that strong commercial growth requires more than sales alone. You know how to connect the dots between distribution, brand positioning, marketing, consumer demand and retail performance.
What You'll Bring
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, trade marketing, commercial marketing or a similar growth-oriented role.
- A demonstrated track record of winning new business, generating leads, building a sales pipeline or delivering measurable sales results.
- Experience with outbound prospecting, relationship building, presentations, negotiations and moving opportunities through a sales cycle.
- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to identify, prioritize and pursue opportunities with meaningful revenue potential.
- Marketing experience across campaigns, partnerships, promotions, demand generation or retail marketing.
- The ability to develop compelling sales presentations and communicate product benefits in a way that resonates with buyers and consumers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organization and follow-through skills.
- Comfort working with sales targets, performance metrics, pipeline reporting and revenue objectives.
- A proactive, resourceful and solutions-oriented approach. You can work independently, manage competing priorities and get things done without excessive direction.
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and take on both strategic and executional work in a growing business.
- A genuine interest in the beauty, personal care, kids' products or consumer packaged goods space.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling into specialty beauty, curl care, pharmacy, grocery, big-box retail, online marketplaces or professional salon channels.
- Existing relationships with retail buyers, distributors or other relevant industry contacts.
- Experience in haircare, beauty or other consumer packaged goods categories.
- Familiarity with retail sell-in, trade promotions, merchandising, product assortment and sell-through initiatives.
- Experience building partnerships with creators, complementary brands or parent-focused communities.
- Experience working in a lean, entrepreneurial team where initiative and adaptability are essential.
Our Culture: Hustle & Humility
At Love Ur Curls, we believe how you work matters just as much as what you achieve. We're looking for someone who embodies our culture of Hustle & Humility.
Hustle means:
- You take initiative instead of waiting for direction.
- You actively seek opportunities, follow up and keep pushing things forward.
- You take ownership of results and hold yourself accountable.
- You're resourceful, action-oriented and willing to do the work.
- You care about outcomes, not just activity.
Humility means:
- You're collaborative, respectful and open to feedback.
- You put the team's success ahead of ego.
- You're willing to learn, adapt and get involved wherever needed.
- You celebrate wins together and take accountability when things don't go to plan.
- You bring confidence without entitlement and ambition without attitude.
- We're not looking for someone who simply talks about growth. We're looking for someone who wants to build it.
How Success Will Be Measured
You'll be accountable for measurable commercial outcomes, including:
- New business acquisition: New retail, e-commerce, distributor and salon accounts secured.
- Revenue growth: Progress against agreed sales targets and commercial objectives.
- Pipeline development: A healthy pipeline of qualified prospects, with consistent outreach, follow-up and progression toward close.
- Distribution expansion: Growth in the number and quality of retail and professional distribution opportunities.
- Account growth: Increased assortment, promotional participation and revenue from existing accounts.
- Marketing contribution: Execution and performance of initiatives that support consumer demand, sales conversion and retail sell-through.
- Execution and ownership: Consistent follow-through, effective prioritization and the ability to move opportunities from idea to measurable outcome.
- Specific targets and timelines will be established based on business priorities, channel opportunities and available resources.
Why You'll Love It Here
- Build something meaningful. Help scale a growing kids' haircare business with significant potential.
- Own your impact. See a direct connection between your initiative, the relationships you build and the growth you deliver.
- Work across sales and marketing. Develop a versatile commercial skill set rather than being limited to one narrow function.
- Make things happen. Work in an entrepreneurial environment where resourcefulness, accountability and execution matter.
- Grow with the business. Help shape the next stage of LUCK™ and contribute to the brand's long-term success.
- Be part of a bigger purpose. Help more children and families experience the joy and confidence of embracing their natural curls.
